„Researchers are growing radishes aboard the International Space Station as a part of the Plant Habitat-02 experiment. The experiment tests radishes growing in different types of light and soils as part of ongoing efforts to produce food in space. Radishes are used because they are nutritious, grow quickly and are genetically similar to Arabidopsis, a plant studied frequently in microgravity.
