Lernen ist heutzutage leichter denn je, können wir doch im Netz viele Inhalte kostenfrei und aufbereitet zu uns nehmen. Wikipedia, TED-Talks, YouTube-Videos – eigentlich kann man sich alles selbst draufschaffen. Aber so ein richtiges, geführtes und vor allem öffentlich anerkanntes Studium an einer angesehenen Hochschule ist dann doch noch was anderes. Das kostet in der Regel aber halt auch ordentlich und man muss auch erstmal reinkommen.
Das ist auch an der Harvard Universität so – allerdings gibt es dort einige kostenlose Kurse im Online-Lernportal zu finden! Aktuell sind das 115 aus den unterschiedlichsten Lernbereichen. Mal „nur“ ein 15-Minuten-Einleitungsvideo, mal ein länger aufgebauter über mehrere Wochen laufender Online-Kurs mit ordentlich Material. Manchmal ist nicht alles komplett kostenlos, teilweise Inhalte schon aber für ein offizielles Zertifikat muss man extra zahlen. Letztlich zählt aber, dass ihr hier einiges an geprüftem Lehrmaterial einsehen könnt, das gratis euer Wissen und euren Horizont erweitert. Zumal Basis-Einleitungen auch wunderbar sind, um feststellen zu können, ob einen gewisse Themen auch wirklich interessieren, um dann mehr Zeit und ggf. Geld in sie zu investieren.

Gehaltsverhandlungen
Im Kurs „Negotiating Salary“ gibt Mike Wheeler von der Harvard Business School (HBS) Einblicke in den Bereich „Negotiation Mastery“.

Spätestens mit der Pandemie haben Home Office und Co. einen ganz anderen Stellenwert erhalten. Der Online-Kurs „Remote Work Revolution for Everyone“ fasst die Entwicklungen zusammen und zeigt auf, was heutzutage alles möglich ist.

Wenn ich das richtig verstehe, ist der Kurs „MicroBachelors® Program in University Chemistry“ schon fast so etwas wie ein kleiner Mini-Abschluss in Chemie. Entsprechend ausführlich ist das von Professor James Anderson zusammengestellte Angebot auch, das über einen Zeitraum von neun Monaten läuft.

Uh, das könnte was für mich sein! Der Kurs „CS50’s Introduction to Game Development“ gibt Einblicke in die ersten Schritte, die die Erstellung von Videospielen anbelangt. Nice!

Statistik ist ein ziemlich interessantes und vor allem unterschätztes Feld. Viele Leute finden das Spiel mit den Zahlen eher langweilig, dabei kann es im Alltag viele Ansatzpunkte dafür geben, in denen ein gewisses Basis-Verständnis von Vorteil sein kann. Der Kurs „Fat Chance: Probability from the Ground Up“ dürfte hilfreich dafür sein.
